Q. Why do I need an attorney to represent me for my traffic citation?
That depends on a number of factors. What is your expectation? To which court are you assigned? What is the charge... if speeding, how fast? Can you devote 2-4 hours to appearing and getting these answers on your own?
Q. Will I have to appear in court if mandatory court appearance is checked on my ticket?
Yes. However, in most cases, an attorney may appear in your stead.
Q. What are the chances that my ticket will be dismissed?
That depends on a variety of factors. While no one can guarantee the outcome, our years of experience in these courts make it possible for us to give you a pretty good idea of the chances for dismissal.
Q. How many points can I have on my driving record before my license is suspended?
Adults who have 12 or more points in any given 12 mo. period can have their license suspended. Drivers under 18 years of age who have 6 or more points are subject to suspension (this according to the Tennessee Dept. Of Safety, website: www.state.tn.us/safety/driverimprovement.htm)
Q. Can I fight my traffic ticket if I believe it was given in error?
Absolutely! With or without an attorney.
Q. How can I get a copy of my driving record?
You can go in person to a Drivers Services Center to obtain a copy of your driving record. They will ask for your name, date of birth and to see your current license.
Q. How can I get my driving privileges back once my license is suspended?
We can point you in the right directions to help you achieve that goal.
Q. Will I have to take driving school to get my ticket dismissed?

Q. If I'm on driving probation and I get a ticket, what happens next?
Typically, you will be convicted and fined for the ticket which is the subject of your probation, but terms of probation may vary.
Q. Will I owe court costs if I hire an attorney to represent me on my ticket?
Many times this is true. However, court costs often apply even if you are not represented by an attorney
